Backlog Buster Golf

Rules

Last year we didn’t factor in our purchases games and simply tracked how many games we completed. This year we are trying something different.

We are seeing how far we can push ourselves in a game of golf.

If Busters purchase a game, bundle, or a subscription to access games, they will get positive points (positive is bad in golf). If Busters complete a game, 100% complete a game/achievements, and/or play a number of games from the same series, they will get negative points. Free games (ex. Epic Games) or gifted games do not count to positive points, but can be completed for negative points.

As an added perk, Busters can challenge any other Buster or the group as a whole once a month to complete a specific game for an extra -1 point. This is in addition to their other points and can be free games. The person putting out the challenge cannot get the points. The idea is for Busters to say “hey, I really liked this game, play it!” with some incentive.

Here are the specifics for how to track your points:

  • +1 points when purchasing a game, or

  • +1 points per $10 (or equivalent) when purchasing a bundle or subscription (rounded up)

  • +0 points when receiving a game for free or as a gift

  • -1 points for completing a game (credits, story completion, 50% achievements, whatever you deem is complete)

  • -1 extra points for 100% completion of a game (in-game percentage or achievements)

  • -1 extra points for completing a challenge from another Buster
